Purpose Remembering Our Children is a peer-led support group whose purpose is to provide emotional support to bereaved parents. Funding All programs offered free of charge. History Remembering Our Children was founded by Mary Kay Wade, a bereaved parent, Noreen Kern RN, BSN, Nursing Outreach Coordinator at Alvernia College Reading Pa. and Sister Rosemary Stets, OSF, Vice President for Mission and Ministry at Alvernia College in the year 2006. Values Mutual Support: Building relationships with other bereaved parents can help the healing process begin. Individuality: Each person is unique and will deal with the death of their child in their own personal way. Compassion: Providing a caring and accepting atmosphere where parents feel comfortable sharing their feelings. Education: Providing the availability of resources through the lending library and providing information about grief by guest speakers. Insight: Associating with professional advisors who are skilled in grief and group dynamics.
